Panic attacks are one of the most debilitating things that can happen to us.
What makes it worse is that people who have never suffered from one simply cannot understand what you are going through.
- Paralyzing terror
- Sense of dread
- Racing heart
- Feeling faint
- Churning stomach
Often the symptoms can be so intense that you feel that you are dying. And when you try to tell people how you’re feeling they think that you’re making it up.
The first and most urgent thing to do is to reduce and manage the symptoms.
Learning new coping mechanisms to help you to deal with a panic attack in the moment. This is done jointly with actively lowering your stress levels which in itself can help to reduce the frequency of the occurrences.
For many people that is all that is needed and they find that over time the panic attacks become less frequent, less severe and often just disappear completely.
Sometimes panic attacks are caused by something that has happened to you rather than by the stresses and strains of life. Whatever the reason, hypnotherapy, NLP and stress management are fantastic tools for finding the cause of, and dealing with panic attacks.
I offer help with panic attacks using hypnotherapy from either of my 2 practice locations in Worksop and Blyth.
