Is hypnotherapy safe?
Yes, hypnotherapy is perfectly safe. So safe in fact that the UK government doesn’t consider a regulatory body necessary. This means that anyone can set up a hypnotherapy practice. However, to gain the benefits of this technique, you should always use a therapist who has undergone a recognised training programme and is a member of at least one professional body. After all, you would not take your car to a self taught mechanic.
Who is hypnotherapy suitable for?
Under normal circumstances, just about everybody. It’s worth noting that hypnosis is not recommended for people who have been drinking alcohol or taking recreational drugs. There are also some forms of psychotic illness that hypnosis is not recommended for, except by a psychiatrist. In general almost anyone can benefit from hypnotherapy.
Am I too young or too old?
My youngest client to date was 6 years old. My oldest has been in their late 70’s.
With children it is very much down to the individual and there is no set age when hypnotherapy or hypnosis becomes a viable solution. When working with anyone under the age of 18 it is a requirement that there is a parent or guardian is in the room during treatment.
Who can be hypnotised?
Anyone who wants to be and no one can be hypnotised against their will.
How many sessions will I need?
Because we are all unique and our problems are too, the ‘right’ number of sessions will depend on your individual needs.
As a rule of thumb most people will attend between 3 and 6 sessions. I will be happy to discuss your individual requirements before beginning any treatment and we will work together to create a plan for your success.
You are never tied into any contracts and are free to stop treatment at any time.
